ABANDONED CUPS (2021)

This work is a video that represented a photograph that involving a perceptual thought as a bridge for its presentation. When I observe this object, I felt a nostalgic feeling. There was a residual of an event that happened which made me imagining a conversation that likely happened and how they end it.

CONTEMPLATION "BENANG SEMBUNG" (2021)

COLLABORATIVE AUDIO-VISUAL WORK Contemplation: Benang Sembung (2021) BASASAE in collaboration with Muhammad Ravi Arrauf and Alieneta Firdausi.

This collaborative audio-visual work entitled “Contemplation: Benang Sembung” came from an urge to experiment with the new artistic ideas by blending the character of organic and synthetic matter within the visual and aural aspects. Interpreting double bass as the representation of a musical instrument that extends the function of human limbs and organs, live coding music software as the representation of sound matrix systems, poetry, then visual objects and gestures as the video materials and manipulation. In a contemplative manner, this work tried to subtly blend those aspects into one artwork that could be luxuriating aurally and visually. This is the poetry in Bahasa Indonesia that has been included in the work: Benang Sembung by Maria Maya Aristya Kamar beku yang tak terhalang, Menghantar selam kaki-kaki akar, Tiga jengkal meniti dua jengkal, Sediam bersua alurnya, Kamar beku lancang-lancang, Melanang akal tak sekali tiba, Aram temaram berangin ke telinga, Apas bersua alurnya Suggested poem in English Sambong String by Maria Maya Aristya Inside that empty cold infinite space, Slowly steps leaving traces, Three inches spans, reach out to two Round between those knotty prints and silentness Grooving in that empty cold infinite chamber, As if we were stones fling to the edge, From here to every they land, spreading, clacking, Their echoes, do they convey to you?

BUKAN VIRUS / VIRUSN'T (2019)

From a sentence "Laziness is not really about a lack of mobility as such but a lack of motivation" which was taken from a thesis written by Leon F. Seltzer Ph.D, it was said that the cause which pushed us to do something was not because there was a mobility which made a job easier, but the existence of an urgent enough condition. The understanding of said matters appeared in a question: what if we tried to position ourselves in every situations like we were in the middle of traffic when the traffic lights turn green? There were no answer in this video, only a  visual and audio depiction of said question. The observation of said matters was seen from the possibility that might be happened within and without our bodies when we were pushed to execute an action.
